Free pumpkin composting to be available at recycling centers throughout Summit County

Here at Summit Real Estate, we appreciate the efforts made towards sustainable practices in Summit County. This year, free pumpkin composting bins will be available at the Breckenridge, Frisco and Silverthorne recycling centers from Oct. 21-Nov. 12, according to a news release from High Country Conservation Center.

Candles, artificial lighting, paint, glitter and any other kinds of decorations should be removed from pumpkins before they are composted. The pumpkins will be taken to the Summit County Resource Allocation Park, where they will be mixed with food waste and other materials for composting.

The three recycling centers are located at 284 Coyne Valley Road, Breckenridge; 221 Peak One Blvd., Frisco; and 1198 S. Adams Ave., Silverthorne.
