Dew Tour Mountain Competitions, Peak 8, Breckenridge Ski Resort. The top ski and snowboard athletes in the world will be testing out their skills in both individual slopestyle and pipe competitions leading up to the Winter Games in 2018. Christmas Eve at Copper, Copper Mountain. On Christmas Eve, Copper will dazzle with yet another visit from Santa himself, along with a children’s glow stick pageant and a torchlight parade down Main Vein. The finale: a festive fireworks display over the mountain.

Santa at A-Basin, 11 a.m., Mountain Goat Plaza, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, 28194 U.S. Highway 6. Santa Claus and an elf will be handing out candy and visiting the base area to greet all the children. Santa will also ride the Black Mountain Express up to the Black Mountain Lodge to greet people there. The Summit
County Choral Society will be caroling in the base area.

Yonder Mountain String Band, 8 p.m., The Riverwalk Center, 150 W. Adams Ave. Bending bluegrass, rock and countless other influences, Yonder Mountain String Band has pioneered a sound of their own and have been redefining bluegrass music for nearly 19 years. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 the day of.

New Year’s Eve Celebration, downtown Breckenridge. A spectacular array of fireworks will be on display with great visibility from Main Street Breckenridge. The Torch Light Parade will be flowing down the Breckenridge Ski Resort.

New Year’s Eve with Trout Steak Revival, 8:30 p.m., Warren Station, Keystone Resort. Trout Steak Revival is back by popular demand and has been hot on the bluegrass scene since winning the best band competition at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in 2014. Meadow Mountain will be opening. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 day of the show.

New Year’s Torchlight Parade, Copper Mountain Resort, 209 Tenmile Circle. Say goodbye to 2017 and hello to 2018 with a children’s Glow Stick Pageant, a Torchlight Parade and a mountainside fireworks display.

4th annual New Year Celebration, Silverthorne Pavilion, 400 Blue River Parkway. Chas Wetherbee and Len Rhodes and Friends will play everyone’s favorite seasonal music. The program will also feature Janet Harriman on the harp. $35 in advance, $40 at the door.

JANUARY 11-14:
Ullr Fest, downtown Breckenridge. For over 50 years, the Breckenridge community has paid tribute to Ullr, the Norse god of snow. Grab a Viking helmet and join the town-wide snow dance, which includes the iconic

JANUARY 22-29:
International Snow Sculpture Championships, Riverwalk Center, 150 W. Adams Ave., Breckenridge. Viewing  week will be from Jan. 22-29. Snow carving in Breckenridge began as a local pastime; today, decorated snow artists from across the globe transform 20-ton blocks of snow into an outdoor art gallery.

Brewer’s Rock for Rescue, 5 p.m., Silverthorne Pavilion, 400 Blue River Parkway. A beer festival created  for brewers to support and raise funds for the Summit County Search and Rescue Group. 24 breweries will be on-site serving up their brews for a good cause. Food, live music and more. $35 in advance and $45 at the door. 970-262-7370.
